Good News, Everyone!

Ready. Set. Sail!

Hi everybody! Jess is up early and chipper as fuck today! I got some good news to share with all of you so sit down and shut your peep holes.

So I wanted to start off by mentioning that my husband is doing much better! The pain from his surgery is pretty much gone and he is feeling much stronger. He is going in for more blood work tomorrow and to check in with Radiology to see if he needs to finish off whatever cancer is left over. But the general opinion from his Urologist is that he is pretty much good. There doesn’t seem to be any signs of spreading but she is going to do constant follow-ups the next few years to make sure the cancer doesn’t resurge. Cross your fingers folks! Looks like we are in the clear!!!

In terms of my unemployment, still the same. I had an interview with a very reputable biotechnology company for a molecular biology position a couple weeks ago. I pretty much nailed the interview and everyone loved me but they ended up going with another candidate. At least I got some practice in. Oh well. I’ll get them next time.

As far as the whole Mark thing is concerned, I haven’t heard from him. I actually hadn’t even thought about him for a few days. I’m really honestly over it now. He is such a pain and so much drama. I’d rather not have anything to do with him anymore. Good riddance!

In terms of my meds, I actually started taking Lithium for the first time ever a week ago. I must say, this shit works! I feel really good. Like, I actually feel calm and happy. I’m not getting those crazy hyper racing thoughts and I’m certainly not depressed. I think I might have found my perfect med combo. This with the Depakote seems to be keeping me afloat. Huzzah! I’ll keep you guys informed of my progress, obv.

Also, some of you may have noticed but I am writing for The Mighty now. I submitted an article a while back and they loved it and published it on their site. Why am I mentioning this now? Because it looks like the website Scary Mommy has grabbed my article from The Mighty and published on their site. Now all of a sudden my blog traffic is soaring through the damn roof!! Here is a link if you guys are curious:

And last but not least, I got my very first paid writing gig! Yep! bpHope has asked me to write an article for their physical magazine and they are going to pay me for it!! Everything is done and signed and submitted. So now you can have a physical copy of my work right with you in your own homes!!! There is an option to buy the one issue for digital or print or you can buy yearly subscriptions. I’ll let you guys know when the Winter 2017 issue comes out so you guys can buy it. Otherwise, just go online to and sign up for yearly subscriptions to their magazine now and it will show up in the next few weeks!! Here is a link:

You know there is something sexy and tempting about having me all to yourself in your home. Touching me. Knowing I’m right there with you. It makes you wanna sign up doesn’t it. Fuck yeah it does!

Gosh you guys, things are finally on the up and up. Maybe the clouds of this dreary year have finally parted and I’m about to enjoy some much needed good karma. Wish me luck with all my stuff. And thanks especially to all my new followers! Lord, I’m still working my way through your blogs so be patient with me!

  1. Wow!!! YAY!!!

Great news about your husband! It’s always nice to see someone beat cancer. And I know you must be over the moon.

You’re so upbeat. I’m really happy for you! I’m on lithium as well and it’s not got me where you are, but I’m doing pretty well. It’s actually the most effective bipolar med out there so I don’t know why psychiatrists aren’t trying it earlier.

Congratulations on a paying writing job! That’s fantastic, really.

So glad that you are doing so well in so many areas!

  2. OMG I am so very happy for you! I am so very glad that things are starting to look up for you (and your husband!). How awesome that you’re going to be published in the BP Hope magazine! We get that magazine already so I’ll keep an eye out for your article. It’s a great publication; they always have so much good information in it.

And hallelujah for finding the right combination of meds!

  6. MEGA-congratulations on your writing jobs (!!!!!!), beautiful!
I’m glad to hear about your husband too!!!! It’s about time great stuff started happening in your life and I think it’s going to keep growing & growing!

I’m a big believer in lithium – it has helped me immensely, with minimal side effects once I got the right dosage nailed down (900 mg daily) and I’m STOKED it’s helping you too! If you want to read a cool book about its discovery, check out the link below about “Finding Sanity: John Cade, lithium and the taming of bipolar disorder” – once again, big, big congratulations on your success!!!!! 💕✏️
